Tonight I'm having this amazing flashback of running out in the snow to get groceries from Columbus Circle to cook a surprise dinner for my boyfriend in the little Hell's Kitchen studio we were staying in. I miss walking by so many exciting creatures, all bundled up and rushing into the restaurants for warmth. I love New York because I love the concept that at any given moment, something exciting can happen. You meet so many people that work so hard at exactly what they love to do, and anything is possible. A new opportunity can arise and will arise that can take your wildest dreams one step further. It's happened to me so many times.
One year in New York, I was given the opportunity to travel to Singapore to style a runway show. I started wanting to be a stylist because I want the chance to travel. Before I knew it, I was on an airplane with a hairstylist and make-up artist on my way to Asia. Once there, I was set up in a hotel room with a huge shopping budget to begin looking through the local designers for looks to dress the show. The process was filmed by a reality television crew for the network, but I did have a good amount of time to explore the city and see some of the most beautiful shopping malls in the world by myself. I was able to cast, dress, and choreograph the show for a room full of guests and met some amazing people in the process.
