I once worked in at showroom where I was told "We don't wear Herve Leger." I always thought Herve Leger was an extension of Azzedine Alaia, whose dresses I happen to love. Herve Leger's bodycon dresses are often knocked off by mall-boutique Bebe, who I don't totally hate either. Sometimes I'm looking through the store and find something so detailed in an obscure fabric and sexy cut I can't help but try it on. Then I gaze at the polyester work-pants and bedazzled Bebe activewear and think maybe there's a Karen Mulder thing going on here that could only be worn if you're someone like Mazzy Sunday.
When I first moved to Nashville I went to Bebe quite often when I couldn't find other shops to look through, and have also visited the Bebes in Soho, Miami Beach, Los Angeles, and more. I imagine you probably feel the same way about Herve Leger as you do about Bebe. OK- this article is supposed to be about Herve Leger. I don't find myself wearing the mainstream bodycon silhouette often, but it makes me think. Would you wear Herve Leger?
