When I was a little girl I used to spend HOURS on my nails. I had these nail polish pens I had gotten from Old Navy and would spend a countless amount of time perfecting each nail's design (thanks Dad). Today, I barely even polish my nails (is this wrong?) but if you know me you know I have very long, strong, healthy nails. Rachel Zoe recently posted a blurb on nail art you can wear to work, and I think these images from Soho Nail Studio PAINTBOX are genius. The middle image features a short polished nail by JINsoon at the Vera Wang FW15 show. This sole image spurs so much inspiration for me, I would love to use its ethereal lighting (that bright-white-neon-glow?) in a beauty story.
Paintbox's CEO Eleanor Langston is a well-known figure in the beauty industry and has been a beauty editor at Cosmopolitan, Self, and Fitness magazines. How fun would it be to go from working as a beauty editor to owning your own high-design nail studio? "Paintbox offers a seasonal collection of thoughtfully-edited nail designs and colors reminiscent of runway and editorial trends to discerning women seeking edgy elegance." (paintbox) Man. Makes me want to re-write my mission statement asap. The studio is located at 17 Crosby Street between Grand and Howard in Soho.
